I was inspired by U2’s Bono to start this series of letters that dedicates my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to some of the many musicians that have inspired me/shaped me throughout my 21 years on earth. Music is a universal and timeless tool that connects me to other time periods, people and countries. I have always found the 80s British music to be the golden era in modern music history and to rediscover what and where did these great bands get their creative juices from, travelling to UK has always been a dream for me.
Music has always played an instrumental (pun intended) part of my life and I am very blessed to have found some songs that mean so much to me. Since I am turning 21 this year, I figured I could pen down some 21 musicians (English or Chinese) that have made a mark on me so far. I’m not going to analyse the songs or write my reviews on the artists; it’s just going to be my reflections and the emotions I derive from these artists.
Enjoy!
