CHRIS, JONNY, GUY, WILL AND PHIL
I don’t believe I have chased after any band as hard as I did for the five of you. Back when CDs were still in trend, I remember saving up my weekly allowance just so I can buy and collect your albums.
I constantly tell others that you guys are one of the most creative and innovative rock bands out there in the world today. I mean you guys inspired Jason Regler to invent the Xylobands for your concerts…
I can’t really determine what exactly was the first Coldplay song I listened to (by listen I mean to know the song title and the tune) but I’m guessing it was Clocks because I recall it being one of the only 7 songs in my Sony Ericsson Walkman phone when I was 11 – 12 years old. What attracted me to this song was definitely its piano riff. It was one of those songs where people know the tune but now the name; I was (still am) kinda proud being able to tell others the song title.
I was elated when I won free tickets to see you guys perform in my town. Thinking back, I was in class when I received the news and I was about to give a presentation but I couldn’t contain my excitement any longer and I let out a tiny squeal in class. That day was one of the happiest days of my life.
You guys have created a bunch of familiar and catchy tunes that are well-known among generations. In fact, among all the bands I listen to Coldplay is probably the only band my friends and family know of too and I guess it helped me connect with others too. You guys have introduced me to a whole new genre in rock music as well as some other great bands like Echo & the Bunnymen.
It’s been more than 8 years since I started following y’all and so thanks for being a big part of my teenage years.
